Daintree BAKU BEACHOUSE (Baku is the local indigenous `Kuku -Yalanji bama' name for Cape Kimberley)

Visit beautiful Cape Kimberley Beach in the Daintree National Park and enjoy this self contained studio style cottage, situated in the grounds of the only ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT residence on this unspoilt tropical beach. Sleep to the sound of the Coral Sea and cool in her soft tropical breezes.

Get off the mains power grid and experience renewable solar power, fresh rainwater, exotic fruits and flowers in season, solitude and the most amazing views.

The cottage overlooks uninhabited coral fringed Snapper Island. and beyond to Port Douglas and Cairns.

Nestled in a 3 acre haven of tropical gardens and surrounded by Daintree Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest and The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, the position is exclusive and unique.

The unspoilt beach extends from a beautiful rainforest clad rocky headland in the north, some 3 kilometres to the famous Daintree River mouth to the south.

We do request a min 3 night stay, although we will accept 2 nights if this is all there is available on our calendar.

ATTRACTIONS

FISHING: Local waters are Coral Trout and Spanish Mackeral and (seasonal) barramundi fishing grounds.

SCENIC HELICOPTER FLIGHTS: Allow us to arrange a scenic flight of your choice, perhaps a gourmet picnic on a secluded coral cay. Pick up is by helicopter from our lawns in front of the cottage.

SWIMMING: in the Coral sea, right at your doorstep or in one of the many refreshing waterholes in the rainforst.

SNORKELING: We invite you to use our kayaks and paddle to beautiful, uninhabited, offshore Snapper Island (2ks) for a coral garden snorkelling adventure with deserted beaches to fossick, far ... far away from the tourist trail.

BOATING: Should you have your own boat you can sail or trail it in, launching for small boats is available off the beach directly in front of the beachouse.

WALKING: The Daintree Rainforest offers world class rainforest walks, unique flora and fauna and refreshing swimming holes.

NOT SO FAR: Driving in; we are 5 kms north of the Daintree Ferry and another 5kms east toward the coast, (total 15 mins north of Daintree Ferry Crossing) and one and three quarter hours drive from Cairns International Airport.

absolute paradise! we can't wait to return next year. we would tell our friends but the less people that know about baku the better. this really is heaven on earth.

Need to relax, unwind, do nothing much else but sleep, eat, and lay on the beach? Then this is the place for you. Welcome to paradise. Like the other comment mentions, make sure you stop for food & drink supplies before crossing the river. But once we arrived there, we didn't want to leave. Our dog Sophie also loved the place too! With pretty much the entire beach to ourselves and the beautiful grounds with coconut palms, what more could you ask for? We will definitely be back again within the next few years.

If you want comfortable accommodation with beautiful gardens, 5 star views, walks along the beach and tranquil time together then this is the place in the Daintree. Attentive hosts who respect your privacy but do all the little things, like light your path with candles when you come home late, to make you feel at home. Shah and Peter are very knowledgeable on the local area and always happy to help out. We are looking forward to a longer stay next time we go. To add to the ambience remember to pick up all your gourmet delights before you leave Mossman. We didn’t and found choices limited once you cross the Daintree River.
