STUNNING GUEST FACILITIES:

OBC is the ideal destination to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature, as well as with your loved ones!

Oak Beach is surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and palm trees. The beach is uncrowded and is perfect for swimming, sun bathing, picnicing, snorkelling.....or just lazing about!

You might be lucky and see dolphins in the Coral Sea.

OBC consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The beach house has been created by one of Australia's leading interior designers and presents with a unique combination of "contemporary colonialism".

The master bedroom has its own king sized bed and large ensuite and overlooks the private pool.

The second bedroom also overlooks the tropical gardens and pool. The bed can be configured for two king single beds or as a king sized bed.

The bungalow, separate to the main house, has a queen sized bed and has spectacular views of swaying palm tress and the Coral sea. The sound of the ocean will gently rock you to sleep each night!

The living and dining areas face the Coral Sea and capture the sea breezes. The French doors on the 'beach side' open out to a wide 'Queensland style' undercover verandah, where you can dine al fresco... or you can relax in the various lounging areas... or walk straight on to the golden sands of the unspoilt beach.

Perhaps if 'pool side' is more your thing... you can 'escape' from the ocean and enjoy a cool refreshing swim in the totally private salt water swimming pool.

Or you may want to spread out on the day bed and read a book or open a bottle of wine and enjoy a BBQ....or catch up on a tan.

Whatever you decide to do, you will be mesmerised by the natural beauty of Oak Beach and its surrounds. It won't take long for you to be totally relaxed and wishing life was always this good!

RELAXING ACTIVITIES!

Depending on how you feel, you can do a lot at OBC, or you can do nothing and simply enjoy the beauty that Oak Beach has to offer.

You can relax in the hammock or one of the many sun lounges, day beds, or simply snooze in one of the luxurious bedrooms.

Or you can walk along Oak Beach, which incidentally is over a kilometre long and marvel at the tropical vegetation growing right up to the shoreline or snorkel off the beach in the clear warm water.

With prior notice, we can organise an in home massage or catering for you.

Or if you are feeling more adventurous, Port Douglas is only a 12 minute drive away. Port, as the locals call it, oozes tropical charm and has a unique fishing village feel.

There are numerous craft shops, cafes, restaurants and bars to explore or if you are feeling really energetic, you can chose from one of two golf courses or play a game of tennis.

If you are feeling more like a tourist, there are some spectacular destinations to visit and enjoy including;

• A trip out to the world famous Barrier Reef, where you can also snorkel or dive.
• Game Fishing.
• The Daintree Rainfores, where you really feel you have gone back in time!
• Mossman Gorge.
• Sky Rail to Kuranda and steam train return.
• Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary.
• Karnak Playhouse.
• Atherton Tablelands.
• Cairns, an interesting tropical city.

This is only a few of the many exciting destinations to vist!!

Fabulous house and location. Stayed a week and felt we had stayed a month. Beautifully appointed but not precious. We felt relaxed with our 2 year old. Will definately be back. A true beachside holiday home.
    Brent - May 2007
Oak Beach is truly a special place. We had a glorious week of swimming, reading in the hammock, long walks on the beach and snorkeling. OBC is ideally located away from it all on a secluded beach, however within 10min you're in the hub of it all in Port Douglas. The ultimate escape .... we will be back. Thanks Paul for all your assistance and recommendations.

Thank you so much for a truly relaxing holiday in your your wonderful cottage. We had a pleasureable and rejuvenating experience. The house is lovely – lots of care and attention to every detail and it had such a lovely feeling. We had perfect weather which helped our experience enormously. One member of our group took a fishing charter and caught plenty of fish which was wonderful. We cooked these up on the bbq at night. There were plenty of herbs and spices in the cupboard to make wonderful meals, as well as milk, coffee and teabags.

We took the owners recommendation and had breakfast each day at Otz Cafe, and took rolls home for lunch – so that was a great tip.

I would highly recommend this property if you are wanting to relax in comfortable surroundings, in a quiet, magical location.

PS - the beach side hammock was fantastic and the perfect reading spot in the afternoon!

A truly perfect location for relaxing, spending time with friends or enjoying everything the area has to offer. Our only regret was having to leave, we will definitely be back.

We were a group of six mid 50's adults, who have travelled extensively. OBC was a revelation to all six.
It was perfect for a group of close friends such as us. The various areas to lounge, relax ,read, eat and drink in were essential in our choice. Our stay and facilities at OBC were perfect. None of us will ever stay at a resort ,hotel or B&B again.
My stand out memory is of eating fish we caught in the Daintree that day and cooked on the open fire on the beachfront on a moonlit night.

We found OBC and surrounds a perfect retreat for a private and very relaxing holiday.

The cottage is beautiful, and there are multiple areas provided to dine, socialise and relax. Somehow we managed to make use of all of them throughout the week.

Aside from the cottage the beach is the most stunning aspect, we felt like we virtually had the whole beach to ourselves all week. I would recommend a walk right to the end and view back along the beach from the raised headland towards Port Douglas.

Definitely recommended for those wanting a private retreat in contrast to the various resort options that are also popular in the area. Port Douglas is only a short drive away if required.

We stayed at OBC for 5 days and it was simply not long enough. The place is truly one of the most beautiful and magical places that I have ever been. We hardly left the house from the day we checked in. It was too good to leave! We walked on the beach, we BBQ'd, we drank, we played music (supplied), we sat and read and chatted and swam regularly in the totally private pool, which was the best thing to wake up to in the morning and beats a shower any day! In short if we had known before we got there just how wonderful this house was we would have stayed there for 2 weeks or if we could afford it we would have bought the place. I have one final thing to say, it is better value than any hotel and I believe that it should be taken by couples only and let everyone else find somewhere else to stay. It's too nice to waste on other people. Go and stay at OBC……you WILL NOT regret a moment!
    Kim - December 2005
Heaven! OBC is the most perfectly designed beach retreat imaginable. The decor is stunning and every conceivable need has been catered for. Despite the wonderful range of top class restaurants only ten minutes away in Port Douglas, we hardly left the house. With the private beach at one door and tropical, walled garden and pool at the other, three separate areas to dine and a moonlit ocean to gaze upon, OBC is paradise. We could not have felt more at home, were sad to leave and plan to return. If you really want to indulge yourself, OBC is THE place. Our warmest thanks.
    Andrew - December 2005
We spent a week of sheer bliss at this property. The house is stylish and comfortable, with absolutely eveything you need for the perfect holiday. The location is breathtaking. The Pool is a lot bigger than it appears in the photographs. The only down sound was leaving!
    Ineke - September 2005
We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Oak Beach. The house is extremely comfortable and stylish. We very much enjoyed being able to walk straight onto the beach, the location is second to none!
Our compliments and thanks to the housekeeper, the best we encountered anywhere.
We hope to return one day.

Oak Beach Cottage, Port Douglas. If you desire to leave the smell, rush and population of your city life for something PERFECT........WE FOUND IT!!! Cheap flights to Cairns, good rates on car rentals and an unbeleivable drive to Oak Beach (12 minutes south of Port Douglas) The Cottage is absolutely pristine, gorgeous, everything! Easy, single level living and perfect, level beach front. Superbly private with a front courtyard and warm pool and fountains. Rear backs onto the sea. The sound of running water just takes everything you left 3 hours ago, away....for good. The inclusions for our one week stay cover everything, plus more. The position is the best on Oak Beach...by far. WE DIDN"T WANT TO LEAVE THE COTTAGE DURING THE DAY. We had our own tropical brekkies, nice light lunches by the pool and a easy, short drive into Port Douglas every evening to eat at one of the towns top resturants (BYO or otherwise). Then a beautiful drive back to OBC to have a nightcap out by the the 25 degree sea with soft, gentle waves wooshing at your feet. Just incredible! And we slept like babies - not a sound...except the sea. The beach is ideal for jogging/walking, so picturesque and quiet, perfect clean air, no traffic, no pollution, untouched sand...perfect(we thought). We commend this superb propery to anyone (and we've stayed in many places in Aust and overseas.....OBC leaves all of them standing!! DO IT like we did. You will not be disappointed no matter how particular you are (I am!!). OBC will exceed all your expectations. An absolute credit to the owners!! We have booked again.
    Jan - August 2005
Blissful! a delightful and comfortable home that has been stylishly designed to allow its guests to relax in a number of areas both inside and outside the house. The position is world class with the beach right at your front door and the pool area at your back door!Highly recommended.
    Margaret - July 2005
OBC is perfect in so many ways....the house has been beautifully decorated and furnished. its classy but simple with a really nice beach feel to it. Days were spent relaxing on the huge day bed or swimming in the private pool. Balmy nights involved the great Aussie bbq and many fine wines. We had trouble leaving and we'll be back!
    Rick - April 2005
WOW! After years of travelling, we have finally found the perfect holiday destination.

OBC is paradise in every sense of the word. The house is stylish, comfortable, tastefully furnished and private. There are so many areas to relax in, be that on the beach side or around the tropical pool.

We loved being able to walk directly through the french doors onto Oak Beach and watch the moon rise out of the ocean at night. We even saw dolphins twice in the morning!

Oak Beach also is amazing, with the bonus that the beach is also so private.

We also loved being only 10 minutes or so away from Port Douglas by car....but far away to escape the 'tourists'.

We didn't want to leave and we will definitely be back..... Thank you for such a perfect holiday!

    Chris - May 2005
Well equipped, beautifully laid out. The planning of the layout with wonderfully varied seating and lounging areas made for a most relaxing and comfortable break. The sound of the sea washing the beach outside didn't hurt either.
    Allan - July 2005
We'll be back to Oak Beach Cottage - probably many times. It was the most relaxing break we have had for a long time. Much better than staying in a resort. It is great to have so much space to ourselves right on the beach. It is very comfortable, stylish, and tranquil.
    Carolyn - August 2005
A superb week of relaxation, good food and wine in a glorious setting. The house was superbly comfortable, set in a fabulous location on a gorgeous beach. Highly recommended!!
