Halcyon Beach Cottage

Halcyon Cottage is a fully self contained holiday home with quality appointments throughout. Located in a semi-rural location at Ball Bay 40 minutes drive north of MacKay. Situated on 2.5 acres of partially cleared bushland with walking trails and abundant wildlife. McBride National Park abutts the property to the north.

Property Features

There are three bedrooms; two are furnished with Kingsize beds. The third has a double sofa bed (innersprung) and this room doubles as another living area or as a study as it is also equipped with a desk and chair. There are two bathrooms, the main one has quality appointments including a spa bath and bidet. There is even an outdoor shower (for sandy swimmers). The living areas are extremely comfortable with large glass doors opening to the deck with views over the Coral Sea. A 32 inch LCD television DVD player and stereo are also available for your entertainment. The superbly appointed kitchen has a servery to the deck and also enjoys views over the sea. There is a 6 burner barbeque and a 9 piece outdoor setting on the deck. Phone (local calls only) and dial up internet are available.

Local Attractions

Halcyon Cottage offers easy access to many local attractions. Cape Hillsborough National Park is a 10 minute drive or 20 minute walk at low tide. There is a boat ramp at Seaforth (6km) and guided fishing can be organised from there. There is golf at Halliday Bay Resort (5 minute drive) or 15 minute walk for the fit over the hill.T ennis courts are available for public use in Seaforth. Eungella National Park (130km) is home to platypus and the spectacular Finch Hatton Gorge.

Seaforth which is less than a 10 minute drive has 2 stores where essential groceries can be bought. Alcohol, fuel and bait and tackle can also be purchased here. Fast food can also be bought from the service station at Seaforth. Cape Hillsborough Resort also has a shop which stocks some grocery items. The Resort is also open for meals and snacks. The resort in Halliday Bay also offers meals on Friday and Saturday night.
