Located on the Great Ocean Road on the Moonlight Head ridge, you are within easy reach of the major attractions. The 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge are a short 15 minute drive to the west. Further along the coast past Port Campbell you will come to the Grotto, London Bridge and the Bay of Islands Coastal Park The spectacular water falls of the Otway Ranges are 20 minutes away to the east. A walk to the end of the road takes into the Otway National Park at Moonlight Head, and on to the newly opened Great Ocean Walk. For those interested in the maritime history of the coast a visit to Cape Otway Lighthouse is a great way to spend half a day or more.

This rugged coastline claimed many ships over the last 2 centuries but few wreck sites have remains visible. One site that does have visible remains is Wreck Beach. Located on the western side of Moonlight Head in the Otway National Park are the famous ANCHORs of the Marie Gabrielle (1869) and the Fiji (1891), just 5 km from Moonlight Retreat. The view from nearby Gables Lookout is worth the short walk from the car park through the She oak forest.

Location

Moonlight Retreat is located 1km off the Great Ocean Road. Drive along the Great Ocean Road (B100) to the Moonlight Head turnoff, turn off the B100 and proceed for 500m, turn left at the finger board to Moonlight Retreat, proceed another 500m and the Moonlight Retreat Entrance is on your right.
