Whiskey Gully Wines, at Severnlea, is in the heart of the Granite Belt region which has ideal climate and soils for premium wine grape production. It produces elegant and fruity full-bodied red wines and well balanced white wines in both aromatic and fruit driven styles. The vineyard was established on one of the district's oldest station properties - Beverley - which was first settled in 1880 and the historic homestead has a cellar door outlet, a restaurant and there are also award-winning accommodation cottages.

Our wines have won over 60 trophies and awards at National and State wine shows since first showing our wines in 2001. Our trophies have included Best Queensland Wine for our Chardonnay, Best Queensland Cabernet and Best Red Wine of Show for our Shiraz.

The Opera House Cottage

The Opera House, with superb mountain views, has two bedrooms on separate levels, creating space and a sense of separation. It is suitable for two couples or a family. A shared bathroom is on a level in between. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with electric blanket and a built-in wardrobe. The second bedroom has two large single beds. The combined lounge/dining/kitchen area is on ground level with a wood-burning heater. A granite hill forms part of a private, natural garden. Stylish French doors open onto an outdoor setting on a rock plateau.

There is a snug wood heater, CD player and cooking facilities. A sumptuous breakfast basket is provided in all tarrifs. An abundance of Whiskey Gully Wines is available to drink!

The Hitching Rail Cottage

It is set romantically among a grove of trees with a natural garden of wild flowers and granite overlooking the vineyard. Its name is hitched to an old fencing rail beside the cottage, bordering an outdoor sitting area. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed an en-suite. The cosy living area with wood-burning heater overlooks a private garden. A straw bale wall is an attractive interior feature.
