We stayed here simply beacuse it was more affordable than staying on fraser Island itself. We did a daytrip across which was fun. Hervey Bay itself has a lovely long beach with caravan parks dotted along it. There were a lot of apartment buildings being developed when we were there so it is in danger of ruining itself. Nice spot to stop up the coast.

For newlyweds and nearly deads, is the motto of the Bay. Although it is slowly coming of age, very slowly. The Boat Club offers great meals with great views and great prices. Catch the boat to Fraser Island for some adventurous beach 4wding.

Hervey Bay chillout zone. The place you get the boat to Fraser Island. As in most of Australia there are good restaurants and a good atmosphere.

Gateay to Fraser Island. Not much else to do in Hervey Bay but a nice affordable spot to base yourself. The beach is lovely and there is plenty of accommodation.

Hervey Bay is a great base for Fraser Island. You can get all your supplies here and the beachfront is a nice stroll around.
